Nearly Perfect Garden State Weather

May 17th, 2012

Well, the string of fantastic weather is over across most of the country as the national mean Perfect Weather Index dips below 7 for  the first time in about a week tomorrow. There will be some very warm temperatures through the Midwest along with some gusty winds, and this is what keeps much of Kansas and Nebraska below a PWI 6. The best weather will be found from Chicago east to Boston. New Jersey will live up to its Garden State nickname tomorrow as the mean PWI reaches 9.0.

Out of 1.3 million grid squares, only 96 score a perfect 10 tomorrow, almost all of which appear in California. Camarillo, California is my pick for the best weather in the nation Thursday. Washington is the only other state where perfect 10’s occur tomorrow, and they appear around the town of George. Yes, there is a town called George, Washington!

I thought I would try a top 5 best and worst states. So here it is:

  1. New Jersey
  2. Delaware
  3. Connecticut
  4. Indiana
  5. Maryland

  1. Alaska
  2. Florida
  3. Nebraska
  4. Kansas
  5. South Dakota

  1. I like the addition of 5 best/worst. It a nice weather-at-a-glance opportunity.
