The weekend starts off pretty nice in most locations, aside from all the rain expected in New England. Minnesota, Land of 10,000 Lakes, will enjoy it’s best day on the Perfect Weather Index with a mean of 8.5. Unfortunately for me, Vermont will bring up the rear with an abysmal 2.9 PWI.
There will be the usual scattered perfect 10 scores throughout California including Lake Casitas and Lake Arrowhead in Southern California. Another lake with a perfect 10 will be near North Saluda Reservoir, South Carolina. Seems like a great day to be at a lake, unless it’s Lake Champlain!
The mean for the nation will be 6.5 which is pretty good.
1. Minnesota 1. Vermont
2. Iowa 2. New Hampshire
3. North Carolina 3. Massachusetts
4. Tennessee 4. Rhode Island
5. Illinois 5. Michigan
Warm humid air will surge north through the Great Plains Sunday which will keep the PWI under 6 in a large part of the region. New England will continue to pay for that beautiful Memorial Weekend with continued showers and cool temperatures. The best weather will shift slightly east from Minnesota into neighboring Wisconsin. Maine will end up at the bottom of the PWI heap.
There will be quite a few perfect 10’s in California on Sunday, mainly just inland from the Southern California coast. My pick for the day will be Tustin, California. A few perfect locations appear in southwest Colorado as well around Fall Creek.
The mean for the nation will fall a bit to 6.3.
1. Wisconsin 1. Maine
2. Indiana 2. New Hampshire
3. Michigan 3. Vermont
4. Ohio 4. Texas
5. Virginia 5. Kansas
