The monthly total for May are in! The overall best state was California and this is the state with the best location in the country. And that location is: Camanche Reservoir which is about 40 miles SE of Sacramento. The worst state was Vermont, just beating out Maine. And the worst location was Mt. Washington, NH, a notoriously bad weather site.
A large area of perfect weather is expected in northeast Oklahoma, southwest Missouri and northern Arkansas Sunday. This will include both Joplin and Springfield, Missouri. Also a large area of perfect 10s in remote sections of eastern Oregon. A sliver of 10s just inland along the northern California coast from Crescent City to Eureka. Overall, Oklahoma and Oregon tie for the best both with a very high 9/10.
Best: 1. Oregon 2. Oklahoma 3. Washington 4. Kansas 5. Arkansas
Worst: 1. Minnesota 2. Wisconsin 3. Iowa 4. Wyoming 5. Louisiana
The West continues to warm up and dry out Friday. Some places ,such as Redding, CA, will be too warm for perfect 10s, but a lot of 10s will be found in parts of northern Nevada, Oregon and eastern Washington. Reno, NV…Boise, ID…and Bend, OR all will see perfect weather tomorrow. The Rockies and the Plains will continue to be under a late season cold snap.
Best: 1. Oregon 2. California 3. Washington 4. Nevada 5. Arizona
Worst: 1. Iowa 2. Nebraska 3. South Dakota 4. Colorado 5. Wyoming
A beautiful day on Thursday in parts of California including my own area. (Very happy). Some of this extends into the Rogue Valley of Oregon as well and California overall is the winner. With the huge snowstorm in the Rockies, very low PWI numbers in Wyoming including Cheyenne. Too hot in the east so PWI are a bit tempered by that though sunshine will abound.
Best: 1. California 2. Oregon 3. Rhode Island 4. Arizona 5. Missouri
Worst: 1. Wyoming 2. Wyoming 3. Colorado 4. Nebraska 5. Wisconsin

It’s been a five years since I’ve contributed to the Perfect Weather blog but recently I have become interested in sharing this again. I think it’s fun so why not? For those who forgot or don’t know what this blog is about, I analyze National Weather Service data all across the country to find the most perfect weather. Many factors go into perfect weather including: temperatures, wind, humidity, cloud cover, etc. I am also open a repository of other graphical weather forecasts at Cartomet.com and possibly another blog dedicated to those other weather maps. Also, I now have the ability to archive all PWI maps and will be examining weekly, monthly, and possibly the yearly best weather in the country. I expect this to be incredibly interesting as we move forward to see who really has the best weather in the nation. For today we have:
Best: 1. Kentucky 2. North Caroline 3. South Carolina 4. Arkansas 5. Tennessee
Worst: 1. Maine 2. New Hampshire 3. Massachusetts 4. Rhode Island 5. Vermont

A terrible day in the Great Lakes tomorrow with the blizzard moving in. The entire country will see relatively low PWI scores tomorrow with all the cool weather around. Only South Florida will see anything above PWI 7. All in all, it looks like winter!
Best: 1. Florida 2. Arizona 3. Louisiana 4. Texas 5. North Dakota
Worst: 1. Michigan 2. Illinois 3. Wisconsin 4. Indiana 5. Ohio

Expecting a perfect weather day at Kennedy Space Center in Florida tomorrow, but there are no scheduled space shuttle launches after NASA killed the shuttle program. But if you going to Ron Jon Surf Shop, in Cocoa Beach, Florida…it will be just as nice. This perfect weather extends north through Daytona Beach, Flagler Beach, then curves inland at St. Augustine towards Lake City. On the Gulf of Mexico side of Florida there is another strip along the coast from Hernando Beach, north to Homosassa Springs, to Suwannee. There is a large area of PWI 10’s in southwest Georgia and northern Florida as well. Some of the larger towns in this area include: Tallahassee, Florida…Thomasville, Moultrie, and Bainbridge in Georgia. Overall, the mean for Florida is nearly 9.0 and will be tops for the nation tomorrow.
A blizzard in the Midwest will keep scores at their lowest from just east of Denver to Grand Island, Nebraska and Dodge City, Kansas. And of course, quite nasty in the Pacific Northwest again with Washington State at the bottom.
Best: 1. Florida 2. Georgia 3. Alabama 4. South Carolina 5. Mississippi
Worst: 1. Washington 2. Nebraska 3. Kansas 4. Colorado 5. Oregon
