Perfect 10s in several states including Vermont, New York, Maine, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Illinois. Some of the best weather in Burlington, VT and the the suburbs of Chicago and Milwaukee. Overall though, Michigan comes out as the best state and Florida by two categories, the worst. Incidentally, this is one of the highest means for the entire country (7.4) of the entire year thus far.
Best: 1. Michigan 2. Vermont 3. Wisconsin 4. Maine 5. Illinois
Worst: 1. Florida 2. Arizona 3. Alaska 4. South Carolina 5. Georgia
A ring of perfect weather around Lake Superior is expected Tuesday. This includes northern parts of Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Michigan. The largest city with perfect 10 weather is Duluth, Minnesota, but the state winner for the day will be Wisconsin. Rotten weather continues in New England with Massachusetts on the bottom this time.
Best: 1. Wisconsin 2. Montana 3. Iowa 4. Indiana 5. Kentucky
Worst: 1. Massachusetts 2. Rhode Island 3. Connecticut 4. New Hampshire 5. Vermont

After several days of difficult predictions by the National Hurricane Center, it now looks like Isaac will head to New Orleans. Ironically, it will make landfall 7 years to the day on the anniversary of hurricane Katrina. But, this is the busiest time of year in the tropics, so having a land-falling hurricane on that date is not unusual. As you can imagine, the PWI reflects the hurricane conditions expected down in the Bayou.
Elsewhere, very average run of the mill days today and tomorrow, but the Great Lake states will be the best. Wisconsin on top today and Michigan best tomorrow. A few selections of perfect 10’s include: Bessemer, Michigan and Saltese, Montana.
Best 1. Wisconsin 2. Minnesota 3. Oregon 4. Idaho 5. Washington
Worst 1. Alaska 2. Florida 3. Georgia 4. Ohio 5. Arkansas
Best 1. Michigan 2. Wisconsin 3. Indiana 4. Oregon 5. Ohio
Worst 1. Louisiana 2. Alabama 3. Mississippi 4. Florida 5. Georgia

Could this be the first sign of summer beginning to lose it’s grip on the nation? A cold front sweeping through from New England to the Ohio Valley today will bring much cooler and drier weather to the Midwest and Great Lake States Monday. All of the really hot and sticky weather will be relegated to the Deep South from Louisiana to Georgia. This makes the national mean jump to 6.6 on Monday with Michigan leading the way. More importantly, I have not seen PWI 7’s and 8’s in Missouri and Kentucky for example, in a very long time. Surprisingly, perfect 10’s are few on Monday with most in far southwest New York and along the Northern
Jamestown, New York
California coast. My picks for tomorrow include: Jamestown, New York…Brocton, New York…and North East, Pennsylvania. Out in California, some perfect 10’s include: Bridgeville and Whitehorn.
1. Michigan 1. Alaska
2. Ohio 2. Alabama
3. New York 3. Louisiana
4. Pennsylvania 4. Mississippi
5. Wisconsin 5. Georgia

Another stunning day on tap for New England Friday. Almost the entire state of Maine will bathe in PWI 9’s or better making it the highest in the nation. A few perfect 10’s in the state include: Long Pond…Booth Bay…Sedgwick…and Trenton. Next door in New Hampshire a few perfect 10’s in the extreme northern part of the state around Pittsburg and Dixville Notch (site of the very first votes on election day). More gorgeous weather expected in the UP of Michigan along the shores of Lake Superior and Lake Huron. Some picks here are: Presque Isle…Cedarville…Mackinac Island…and Au Sable Point.
Quite a few 10’s out West Friday as well…mainly in Northern California and Southern Oregon. In Oregon my pick is Howard Prairie and in California it’s Maple Creek.
1. Maine 1. Mississippi
2. New Hampshire 2. South Carolina
3. Vermont 3. Georgia
4. Michigan 4. Alabama
5. Oregon 5. North Carolina

Another mean of 7.0 for the nation on Wednesday, very similar to Tuesday…just a little further east. A large area of perfect 10’s develop on the border between Michigan and Indiana. My pick for the day is Elkhart, Indiana. A stretch of perfect 10’s also occurs along the I-79 corridor around Pittsburgh.
Out West, some pockets of perfect weather in some of the foothills of the Sierras in California. Also, just above Boise, Idaho. My pick out West is Lakeview, Oregon.
A storm exiting New England drags the northern part of the region to the bottom of the index.
1. Indiana 1. Maine
2. Illinois 2. New Hampshire
3. Ohio 3. Louisiana
4. Kentucky 4. Alaska
5. Michigan 5. Texas

I’m expecting a lovely day around the Great Lakes tomorrow with Indiana leading the way. Northern Michigan will also get in on the nice weather with a large area of PWI 9. Also, a fine day in Chicago, but it will a little cool and breezy right near the lake.
Perfect weather will be confined to the mountainous areas in Southern California. Monrovia, California will come closest to being perfect and is my pick for the day.
Truly awful June weather in the Pacific Northwest. Rain, cool temperatures, and even some high elevation snow is in the forecast. The number of PWI 1’s is quite high for a June day. Spokane, Washington will certainly see the worst weather in the nation.
1. Indiana 1. Washington
2. Michigan 2. Oregon
3. Kentucky 3. Idaho
4. Illinois 4. Maine
5. Wisconsin 5. Florida
