Wednesday looks like a real winner for the Northeast part of the country. Perfect 10s from New York to Maine including: Boston, Portland, Montpelier, and Syracuse. A secondary area of perfect weather in the Magic Valley of Idaho including Twin Falls. Rhode Island’s small size propels them to the best weather state.
Best: 1. Rhode Island 2. Massachusetts 3. New York 4. New Hampshire 5. Connecticut
Worst: 1. Illinois 2. Florida 3. Virginia 4. Iowa 5. Missouri
Not a lot of perfect weather Wednesday except for parts of central California. This includes Oroville, site of the serious dam issues earlier this spring at Oroville Dam. A cold snowy storm in the Rockies leaves that region squarely at the bottom. Much of the east will actually be too warm to get high PWI ratings as a big high pressure make things warm and sticky.
Best: 1. Rhode Island 2. Maine 3. New Hampshire 4. Massachusetts 5. Connecticut
Worst: 1. Idaho 2. Utah 3. Montana 4. South Dakota 5. North Dakota
The weather in New England of late has been pretty miserable so they are due for some nice weather and today will see the start of that. Most states from North Carolina to New Hampshire will see a PWI score of least 8 with Rhode Island topping 9. This trend will continue the next few days although PWI scores may not reflect it as temperatures near 90 in some areas. Too much of a good thing.
Best: 1. Rhode Island 2. Massachusetts 3. Maryland 4. Connecticut 5. Pennsylvania
Worst: 1. Oregon 2. Idaho 3. Washington 4. Nevada 5. Wyoming

An incredible day on tap Thursday for much of the nation. Over 50,000 sq. miles of perfect 10’s tomorrow, mainly out West. A sharp cold front is very obvious on the map from Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Amarillo, Texas. You can see it today in the satellite image from Minnesota to Colorado. Behind the cold front, dry and comfortable weather with lots of sunshine. Some of the largest areas of perfect weather will be immediately behind the front in Nebraska. North Platte, Antioch, Norfolk and Wayne will be among the 10’s in the state. In South Dakota, Smithwick and the western part of Badlands National Park. In Montana, a large area of PWI 10 in the eastern part of the state north and south of I-94 including: Crow Agency, Glasgow and Fallon. Other scattered 10’s out West include: Evanston, Wyoming…Lake Tahoe, California…the Oregon Coast from Waldport to Rockaway Beach…Hoquium and Muckilteo, Washington…Arco, Idaho…and Park City, Utah.
Driftwood Beach, Oregon
The perfect weather will not be confined to the West as six states in the East will have 10’s as well. Most are in the Appalachian Mountains including: Black Mountain, North Carolina…Richwood, West Virginia…and Bent Mountain, Virginia. In New England: Shrewsbury, Vermont…Dixville Notch, New Hampshire…and Redington, Maine.
Best: 1. Rhode Island 2. Montana 3. Nebraska 4. Maryland 5. Vermont
Worst: 1. Alaska 2. New Mexico 3. Texas 4. Kansas 5. Florida

There’s no doubt New England will see the best weather in the nation on Saturday. Widespread PWI 9’s and 10’s from Caribou, Maine south to Providence, Rhode Island! Southwest Oregon will also see some fine weather Saturday and Sunday and will probably be the best region overall for the weekend. There is, however, one location in the nation that will see a perfect 10 on both Saturday and Sunday and that is Bridgeville, California. This town is in the mountains of Northern California about 30 miles from the coast in the land of the Redwood Forest. A few other picks for perfect 10’s on Saturday include: Keene Valley, NY…Wallingford, VT…Hawley, MA…Curlew, WA…and Silver Falls, OR.
Sunday will not be quite as nice nationally as the mean for the nation drops from 6.5 to 6.3. New England will still see nice weather but it will be warmer than Saturday. All of the perfect 10’s will be out West mainly in Oregon and the panhandle of Idaho. Picks for perfect 10’s on Sunday include: Hope, ID…Steamboat, OR…and Howard Prairie, OR.
I would also like to point out some perfect 10’s in Hawaii…which is actually a little unusual given the high humidity there. Of course, these occur well inland in the mountains. Two picks for 10’s Sunday include: Kula on Maui and Waikii on the Big Island.
